Women in Leadership Conference

The Haas Women in Leadership Conference (WIL) was held today. This year’s keynote speakers were Laura Alber – President of Williams-Sonoma, Cammie Dunaway – EVP Sales and Marketing of Nintendo and Alice Waters – Founder of Chez Panisse.

The WIL conference was a great chance to meet women business leaders, Haas alumnae and other MBA students from across the Bay Area. There were three keynote speeches and several industry panels and workshops throughout the day.

I was one of the many WIL volunteers dressed in bright blue collared shirts and black pants (not unlike the uniform for Best Buy employees). I organized the Energy Industry session, which featured Jan Berman, Senior Director at PG&E. In addition to the volunteer duties, I was able to attend the workshop on Managing Perception to Achieve Impact led by Holly Schroth. I also had Ms. Waters sign a copy of her latest cookbook for me.

This year’s conference was sold out. It was great to see such a large turnout for the event.
